What is the schedule for the day?
Pickup is at your hotel lobby at 6:30 a.m., and activities start around 8:00 a.m. at the departure point. Lunch is at 10:30 a.m. in a natural setting, activities continue at 12:30 p.m., and the return to your hotel is at 3:30 p.m. The tour lasts about 8 hours in total. If your hotel is far from the route, the team confirms your exact pickup time on WhatsApp.
Do we visit a waterfall on this safari?
Yes. The highlight of the tour is a refreshing swim at one of the most spectacular waterfalls on the island, with clear water in an unspoiled setting. It is the perfect moment to cool off, take memorable photos or simply relax after the drive through the rainforest. Bring a swimsuit and a towel so you can enjoy the water comfortably.
Can I really make my own cigar?
Yes. After lunch you get the chance to try your hand at making your own cigar, a craft that is part of the cultural heritage of the region. It is a hands-on activity, and you take home a souvenir made with your own hands. The plantation stops also cover cacao and coffee, so you learn how these traditional Dominican products are grown.
What is the visit to the Dominican country house like?
During the morning you visit a typical Dominican country house, where you see rural traditions, local architecture and the way of life of communities that have lived on this land for generations. It is a chance to connect with authentic Dominican culture away from the usual tourist circuits, with your bilingual guide explaining what you see.
What should I wear and bring?
Since you ride in an open 4x4 vehicle through rural roads and swim at a waterfall, wear comfortable clothes you do not mind getting dusty or wet, and shoes with good grip. Bring a swimsuit, a towel, sunscreen, insect repellent and a change of clothes. Some cash is useful for tips, souvenirs and premium drinks, which are not included.
Which languages are spoken and how large is the group?
The tour is guided in English and Spanish by an official bilingual guide, so you can follow the explanations at the plantations and the country house in your preferred language. How do the deposit and cancellation work?
You reserve online with a $10 deposit and pay the balance later. The deposit is non-refundable, and cancellation is free up to 48 hours before the tour, except for that deposit. Tips, premium and international drinks, souvenirs and travel insurance are not included. The safari is run by a licensed local operator with a MITUR license and liability insurance.
