Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before booking this tour.

What is the first stop on the Santo Domingo full-day tour?
The first stop is Los Tres Ojos, a natural spring of fresh water on the way into the capital. From there the tour continues into the Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo, the oldest city in the New World, founded by the Spanish conquistadors. Round-trip hotel pickup from the Boca Chica and Juan Dolio area is included in a comfortable air-conditioned bus.
Which historic sites will I see in the Colonial Zone?
You will see the Cathedral of Santa María la Menor, the first cathedral in the New World, and the Alcázar, the first palace and home of Diego Colón, son of Christopher Columbus, who governed the island in the 16th century. Nearby is La Atarazana, one of the first streets in the city, now home to gift shops, boutiques and art galleries, plus the main churches, buildings and parks of the old city.
Will we also see modern Santo Domingo?
Yes. On the way out of the Colonial Zone you see the Presidential Palace and the Plaza de la Cultura, a complex of modern buildings surrounded by pleasant gardens. That is where you find the National Theater, the Museum of Modern Art and the Museum of the Dominican Man, among others. To finish the day, the tour visits the National Aquarium before heading back to your hotel.
Is lunch included?
Yes, lunch at a local restaurant is included in the price. After the city tour there is a stop for lunch and some shopping before the final visit to the National Aquarium. Premium and international drinks are not included, so those are paid separately. If you have dietary restrictions or allergies, let our team know on WhatsApp after booking so they can help you plan.
What time is pickup and how long does the tour last?
This is a full-day tour of about 8 hours with hotel pickup and return in the Boca Chica and Juan Dolio area. Pickup is listed at 6:30 am in your hotel lobby, which leaves time for the drive into Santo Domingo and a complete day of visits. Because the exact pickup time depends on your hotel, our team confirms it on WhatsApp after you book.
Who guides the tour and in which languages?
The tour is led by an official bilingual guide who speaks English and Spanish and accompanies the group through the Colonial Zone and the historic sites of the city. Groups have a maximum of 30 participants, which keeps the visits comfortable. The excursion is run by a licensed local operator with a MITUR license and liability insurance, with 24/7 support on WhatsApp.
How much does it cost and what is not included?
The listed price is 75 dollars per adult, and the child price is also 75 dollars. The price covers transport, the bilingual guide, the Colonial Zone tour, the historic site visits and lunch. Tips for guides and crew, premium and international drinks, souvenirs and personal expenses, and travel insurance are not included, so bring some cash for shopping at La Atarazana.
How do I book and what is the cancellation policy?
You reserve online with a 10 dollar deposit and pay the rest of the tour price later. Cancellation is free up to 48 hours before the tour, with the only exception of the 10 dollar deposit, which is non-refundable. If you need to change your date or have questions about your reservation, our support team is available 24/7 on WhatsApp to help you.
